My thriller on Kindle Vella – South Beach Ripper

I just published my first story on Amazon’s newest platform KINDLE VELLA. The concept is that the author (me) uploads “episodes” and the first three are free to the readers. If you want to continue to read future episodes, then you have to buy a token to read them.

My first story is titled “SOUTH BEACH RIPPER”, which is set in Miami, and it’s about a serial killer that is murdering women.

If you are not familiar with this new way to publish stories, then I’d appreciate it if you read my first episode and “like” it, so it can get exposure. The following two will be free as well, and then if you want to read the rest, you have to pay per episode with a token.

I am very excited about this new platform that Amazon created for writers.

My newest eBook “Hunter Maker and The Most Holy Place”

This eBook was published November 17, 2022, exclusively on Amazon. It’s a beautiful story for children of all ages.

Hunter Maker is an exceptional young twelve-year-old boy who gets chosen to attend a special summer camp for distinguished young Christian artists. He has been creating amazing religious paintings ever since he was a toddler.
While at this camp, Hunter makes a special trip to Heaven, where he gets to see The Most Holy Place, where God lives, and more importantly, he gets to meet both God and Jesus Christ in person.

However, Satan will do anything to stop him from accomplishing his God-given assignments. He lures Hunter’s friend, Pedro, away from God and turns him into Hunter’s main rival.

The story is action-packed and offers many wonderful surprises. You will receive a full description of Heaven through Hunter’s eyes, and you will find out what God looks like.

This is a story like no other that has ever been told before. Kids of all ages will enjoy reading it over and over again.

Isabella Maldonado – the most popular Latinx thriller author

When you think of thriller authors you immediately think of James Patterson, David Baldacci, or Dan Brown. But have you heard of Isabella Maldonado? She is currently the most popular and successful Latina thriller author.

There isn’t currently a bestseller list for Latinx (Latino/Latina) authors who reside in the United States, so I decided to create one. I feel this will be encouraging for new and up-and-coming Latinx writers to be able to see their books and names on a prestigious list

I came up with this first list by seeing which book by a Latinx author was on the New York Times Bestsellers List. Making that list is the most prestigious of all, and seeing a Latinx author’s name there automatically gets them on my list. That is why I ranked Silvia Moreno-Garcia in the number one position. Then I searched the Hispanic Best Sellers on Amazon, and finally, I looked at the USA Today Best-Selling Books list.

I am open to suggestions and recommendations and welcome anyone who wants to help me to maintain this list going.

MasterClass with top Authors

About two weeks ago I subscribed to MasterClass with the sole intention of learning from my favorite author, James Patterson. I religiously watched at least two courses per day until I finally finished it. I am in the process of writing a thriller and I wanted to know how my favorite author wrote his novels. I heard about MasterClass from a friend who is a writer and she had just taken his course too. What I didn’t realize is that by subscribing to MasterClass I would also have access to other authors’ courses. Besides courses for writers, there are also cooking courses with top chefs, business courses, entrepreneurship, and even one that offers basketball tips.

James Patterson

For now, I’m sticking to the writers’ courses since I want to perfect my own writing. I am now enrolled in the course by Dan Brown where he teaches how to write a bestselling thriller, and this one is turning out to be more interesting than James Patterson’s.

Dan Brown

I plan to spend the summer of 2022 finishing writing and editing this first thriller, and then I will start on a shorter one. But I will also continue to watch as many writer courses on MasterClass by these renowned authors since my dream is to get traditionally published. And on my bucket list is to see my books on the bestseller shelves of Barnes and Noble and other bookstores throughout the world.

Welcome/Bienvenidos to my blog!

My name is Ruben Soto and I have been a writer for nearly twenty years. I founded two writers groups to inspire and motivate writers of Latino/Latinx descent so they could learn more about becoming a published author and about the writing industry itself.

I have self-published several ebooks and one was a huge Amazon bestseller. However, my dream is still to get traditionally published, and now more than ever is the ideal time to make that dream a reality. I will share some of my own experiences as a writer and author and offer you tips and advice on the trends. And I will also share the experiences I had leading the two writers’ groups and attending writing conferences and book fairs.

Although my main target is the Latino/Latinx audience, my advice is applicable to all writers.

I will welcome your constructive feedback and comments.
